FREE SERVICE & FITTING

Do you remember the good ol' days when you went to get your new school shoes fitted and the store clerk would put you in that special chair, pull out the Brannock's device, and measure your feet? Wasn't it great to feel like you were getting special treatment?

Well, at Florsheim, we believe that this kind of service should be offered to everyone, every time they enter our stores.

These days, the modern shoe stylings have longer, shorter, narrow, wider fits so let our staff help you pick out a style that meets all your requirements. Not only will they ensure the shoe is comfortable, but by speaking to an expert, you will be reassured that the style will be suitable for your needs. An incorrect fit can cause discomfort for your feet as well as a wear problem such as creasing.

To get your FREE service and fitting, visit any of our retail stores and enjoy the expert service you have come to rely on!

LACING - When To 'Bar'? When To 'Criss-Cross'?

There are so many ways to lace up shoes, but traditionally it goes: ‘bar’ lacing for classic dress styling and ‘criss-cross’ for athletic and casual styling.

Bar lacing can be described as when the lace is threaded so it sits straight across the top of the shoe. This assures a nice, neat and tidy appearance as well as a firm, well-distributed hold on the foot. Once you’re used to this lacing style, it is definitely the best way to be able to re-adjust the laces to make them an even length on each side.

Criss-cross lacing is where the laces are threaded so they sit diagonally across the foot and intersect between each set of eyelets. This is generally the accepted way to lace for casual situations like hiking, boat shoe styles and runners or sports shoes. The advantage of this type of lacing for casual wear is that on the majority of casual styles there are often more than 5-eyelets, so the criss-crossing gives you a freer form of tension control allowing the wearer to adjust each lace separately.
